Have you recently installed Norton Antivirus? If so, turn off the option in that to check Office applications.
Other reasons could be
1) that you have it set to load macros and there are macros in your documents.
2) that your default template (NORMAL.DOT) has become corrupt. The cure for that is to close Word, search your PC for all files called NORMAL.DOT and to rename it/them (don't delete them in case you have things set up in it the way you want) - just rename to NORMAL.DOX. Then restart Word. It will immediately create a new NORMAL.DOT.
3) The documents themselves may be corrupt or contain links to files that you since moved.

What operating system are you running? You can test opening that Word file by running Word then doing File Open... instead of just double clicking on a word document.
Adobe has a RAM-resident little program that runs in the system tray (lower right, near the clock/time) so that PDFs open faster, go ask Microsoft if they have a similar program at

This can happen due to any of the below:
1) You installed any Add-in's for Word?
2) Try with a simple word document
3) Is this a Network drive?

How do I set up a font? a million. suited click the .ttf record and choose "reproduction" 2. Navigate to C:WINDOWSFonts (press abode windows key+E), suited click and choose "Paste" 3. The font is now put in, affirmation could be displayed on the demonstrate screen. you would be waiting to apply the font in any application, word, photoshop, etc Do i could restart? * you may restart any applications which you opt to apply the font in, (if this gadget replace into open till now installation the font). * Restarting the pc isn't required.

start -run-and type -winword
your computer need tuning. do defragmentation.
run spyware like ad-ware
virus -avg antivirus
remove tempory files.
