I do have his ss#. I haven't had much luck looking on the internet because I'm new to this and I don't know the good sites. His name is William Forbes Young and I think he's 65 yrs old. I don't know if he's alive. This is detrimental to my being. Please help me in any way you can.

Look into the births Deaths and marriages register in your nearest capitol, that might give you an idea on where to start,
otherwise, silly as it sounds, try the phone book, may not be too far away, either way this is going to take some leg work, if you can find out the name of his parents, might help you locate him too

If you have his SS number, his address, etc. is obviously recorded in various governmental records. Accessing them could be a problem, though. A private investigator may be able to help you - they know all the ways to find people, and some have a reporte with the police in their area. Does he belong to an organization of some kind - professional (is he an engineer), charitable (Red Cross, etc.), organized sports, special interest groups? Do you know people who he may still have contact with? Do you know where he worked at one time, or where he lived - friends and neighbors may know where he went from there (it could be a long trail to follow). Just a few suggestions.

My mother found her father like in about 28 years. What she did was she simply called 411 and gave his name and what not but she knew the state he could possibly in. but try going on white pages. com and doing it that way. but you would still have to have some idea in what state he would be in. You can contact a private investigator and see what they can come up with. But mainly you might need to talk to your mother and find out where he could be at or the last state he was in so that can help zero in on your search. But good luck with your search. Or you can always go on Maury and get it done for free! Lol.. Just a suggestion.
