May be yes may be no, but you have higher chance to get them. You have to take preventative measures when you are young and keep yourself healthy. Drink more water and have good diet is very important for everyone.

Why water is necessary

1. Our bodies contain over 70 percent water.

2. You can go longer without food than water.

3. Our bodies need a lot of water to function efficiently.

4. Water helps flush out harmful toxins and thus readies the body for fat loss.

When your body is not getting enough water

~It tries to hold on to the water it has. Since over 70 percent of our muscle is made of water, the lack of it makes our body use the existing water for other functions, leaving you bloated.

~How do you get rid of that excess water? By drinking enough water!

Hot or cold water?

~Many experts tend to advocate cold water, because the stomach absorbs it more quickly.

They believe that cold water might enhance fat burning.

WHAT IS ALKALINE WATER?

One of the longest-lived race of people in the world are called the Hunza. These people, located in the northern Pakistan, are found in several high-altitude mountain valleys. Many Hunza claim to be 150 years old; many others are documented centenarians (over age one hundred). For many years, scientists have pondered the mystery of what makes them so healthy, for they rarely suffer the diseases the rest of us know so well. Some researchers are beginning to believe that the Hunza miracle derives from the water that they drink. The mountain water that flows into the Hunza villages comes from the surrounding glaciers. Structured hexagonally, this water is filled with mineral solutes, and it tests out as highly alkaline

As we have said before, the body uses the blood stream system to dispose of wastes; these are removed in liquid form, and are often deposited in the lungs and kidneys. If there are too many wastes to handle, they are deposited in various organ systems, like the heart, or the pancreas, or the liver, or the colon, or in other locations. Sometimes theses wastes are left on the walls of arteries, and over the years can spread throughout the body.

The break-down of this disposal process, especially of acid wastes, is how we define the aging process. To slow down and reverse this direction, one must begin removing acid wastes from the body.

The best way we have found to do this is to drink alkaline water. This water, having a pH of between of 9 and 11, will first neutralize harmful stored acid wastes, and if you consume it every day, will gently remove them from your body. Your grandfather's dementia may have a lot of root causes. I hope he's under a doctor's care and has been evaluated for other reasons besides a possible Alzheimer's. Lots of diseases can cause dementia, including urinary tract infections, thyroid deficiencies, and strokes. If these are treated, the dementia may disappear. Alzheimer's is a progressive dementia and has no cure.

Stomach ulcers: can be from worry... if your grandfather has dementia, that's a huge worry, besides what all else is in her life! Stomach ulcers can also be caused by a bacteria which is curable by an antibiotic. She should get them checked and treated.

Are you prone to getting either dementia or ulcers? It depends on what caused your grandfather's and mother's physical ailments, and also on your own health.

Yes, because you are eating the same food, same kind of taste, less fiber, more meat, more sugar, more caborhydrate etc... Unless you change your diet than you will be less prone to getting them. Maintain a cleaner bowel system by taking more raw veg and fruits, less intake of meat, carbohydrate, process food etc... Take some natural fiber everyday to cleanse your colon. In other word, minimize acidity food and eat more alkaline food. I used to have stomach ulsers problem. Now it is gone after taking the fiber drink daily. Some conditions do have a genetic link, but not all do. Enviroment has a lot to do with some diseases. It all depends on the cause of the illness. if you worry about it excessively you may drive yourself to an ulcer. the biggest point is that you are aware of your family health history so you can take preventative measures while you are young to keep yourself healthy.

Probably. But, you can guard against severe cases of these maladys by eating a good died, stay away from a harmful lifestyle, don't drink (or modestly) don't smoke. Live one day at the time and don't worry so much.

Health concerns are very often hereditary, but just as often they are environmental. If you have concerns that you may be prone to these conditions that your relatives have, you are probably right. You should do what you can now to reduce your risks.
