On one of my vocabulary cards, "abort" is defined as "to give up on an incomplete project or effort." How can you murder an incomplete human?

No it is not.

1- Murder is a LEGAL definition. You specifically said Murder, not KILLING which is a dictionary term.

2- Murder is defined in New York (I'm sure other states operate the same way, check the individual penal code of the state) as the intent to cause the death of another person he/she causes the death of another person (New york Penal Code 125.25, 125.26, 125.27).

3- a PERSON is defined by the New York Penal Law as "a human being who has been born and is alive."

4- A fetus is not born, so therefore it cannot be "murdered" because it is not legally defined as a person. And once again Murder is a legal definition.

5- as I said before you used the term "MURDER" had you used the word "KILLING" there would be some debate. However you did not so it is undebateable that abortion is not and can not be murder.

It is important to note that an attack that causes an abortion is a seperate offence but not called muder.

I think almost no matter what your beliefs are about abortion, you have to answer "it depends" to this question. Because there are many different circumstances under which abortions are performed. For example, taking a "morning after" pill to eliminate a potentially fertilized embryo does not seem to resemble killing a human being. Also, performing an abortion to save the life of a mother would most likely not be considered murder even if abortion were illegal, because it may be a defense to murder that you are acting to save someone's life. In other cases, it would depend on at what stage you consider the fetus to be a human being. And to those who are pro-choice, deliberately kicking a pregnant woman to kill the fetus probably would be considered murder even under current laws that permit abortions. So there will always be grey areas no matter what the law is on abortion.

No.

"Murder" is a specific legal term, which requires that both killer and killed are legal person (legal personhood is granted at birth), as well as that the crime be premeditated with malice intent (which could not often be proven in abortion, since the woman rarely hates the unborn human). Since an unborn human does not meet the requirements of legal personhood (being born), abortion is not murder by the legal definition of the term.

Of course not. If all babies were allowed to be born, the result would be a suicide for the Earth. The natural resources of the Earth would be rapidly depleted. The destruction of the ozone layer would be accelerated, global warming would be intensified, water supplies would be used up, the forests and oxygen producing plants of the world would be at risk, biodiversity would be a thing of the past as all habitats of animals and plants would eventually be destroyed to maintain human life.

Abortion is not only NOT murder. It is a practical necessity. The Chinese one-child policy is a strong move toward protecting the Earth. Without it, the population of China could be 10 billion. The emphasis of world protection is to seriously decrease population, protect environmental resources, and to award those who have 1 or fewer children.

It is a matter of survival for the Earth and its resources.

Whether or not you believe abortion is murder is a question that needs to be answered by each individual based on your own moral and religious beliefs.

I don't believe that whether or not abortion is murder is a question that can be answered by our nation as a whole because abortion is primarily a religious issue, and according to the Bill of Rights, our country may not establish a religion. Thus, it seems to me that this is a question that must be answered on the individual level.

Personally, I would consider abortion to be wrong, but that's based on my own religious beliefs. Your answer should be based on your own beliefs, not mine.

It's a complicated matter. While I personally would never have one, because I believe it is murder, I can absolutely understand why a victim of rape or something would feel the need to have one. As for the little teenagers who don't know how to unwrap a condom, though, I have no sympathy. Just because you were an idiot doesn't mean you have the right to end a human life, even if it hasn't formed completely yet.

the morality of abortion can be seen as murder, however, in law it is not, not all abortion is a life style choice, people forget that some abortions are necessary to save the life of the mother, if doctors stood by and did nothing, and said a mother has die because her child is killing her.... would that child then need to be put in prison if it survived the birth?

You are going to get nowhere w/ this question. It is a matter of opinion. Not right or wrong. everyone will have a different answer and a different reason. Everyone will say they are right.
