I had a perscription for it a while back for panic attacks, but I don't have health ins. now, and still had some left from a long time ago. I took one after a panic attack and now I may have to take a drug test. Anyone with info, please help!

it's perfectly alright to be taking xanax (i am) if prescribed by a doctor for a medical reason. panic attacks are an authentic reason to be on this drug.
drug testing is more concerned with street drugs than prescribed drugs. think about it, 50% or greater of ALL americans are taking some type of prescription drug to circumvent stress and anxiety.
those who are not on meds are the minority now.
don't worry about the blood test. if it's for a job or employer, and the results come back positive, tell your employer that you can have your doctor write a statement indicating that you are taking xanax as prescribed.
if the drug test is for your doctor, admit that you are still having panic attacks and that when they occur you are still taking the drug because it works.
i, personally, believe that xaxax is a life saver. i am plagued with them and wouldn't ever consider coming off the drug. We do not have to suffer-----it's 2006-----a new age in pain management.
anxiety attacks are painful; thus necessitating the use of controlled substances to eleviate the suffering.
Stand firm on this notion. you don't deserve to suffer. take your xaxax as prescribed.
best of luck!

Odds are good it won't be tested for, anyway. Each different category of drug that is nomral to search for in dourt-ordered and employer-sponsored drug testing costs money, so usually only "harder" stuff is searched for. Because Xanax (Alprazolam) is a benzodiazapene, like Valium or Klonopin, and is generally looked at as harmless, (I'm not saying they are, or aren't, just how they are viewed) it is likely it wouldn't be an issue.

Furthermore, the amounts of alprazolam in a standard Xanax pill are so incredibly low. (from .25 mg - 2 mg) it is on of the harder substances to detect anyway.

I would say its a 95% shot that you have nothing to worry about.
