Give him play time,,quality time with you,,then he may start to listen to you,,also,,put something in his mouth like a chewie or a ball or toy.Do not ever hit him,,it will break his trust in you & make matters worse. You can roll up a newspaper & smack your hand while telling him no.

You can try bark training. Every time he barks when you don't want him to, issue a stern "NO!" If he pays you no mind, you can get something called Bitter Apple at any local pet store. When he barks, tell him "NO!" and spritz some in his mouth. After awhile he'll associate the "NO!" with the bitter taste. You could also go the route of a shock collar - there are 2 types, one that emits a small shock whenever they bark, and another type which has a remote. But I would use that as a last resort.

I have the same problem with my female chihuahua. I just try to keep her away from the front door, because she barks at anyone she can see outside. I recently put an electronic fence around my house so that she doesn't run into the neighbor's yard and bark at them in their own yard. Now that she can spend more time outside, she is starting to get used to certain neighbors. However, she still barks at anyone coming down the sidewalk. Good Luck!

I have a male toy poodle and he barks all of the time, too. He is very, very annoying and really *isses off my neighbors as well. I am thinking about using my neighbors bark collar on him. If not, I think that it should be open dog hunting season.

hi
as cute and adorable as they are.. its annoying isnt it.. the main source of help is to find out why its barking.. it may be bored, no matter how many walks you take it,...it might just be that they just need attention all the time, as some kids are like that.. try different things likei...f you can amuse your dog all night and see if it does bark in the same way. and if not then im afraid youve just got a dog that needs a lot of attention..if you are worried or concerned take your pooch to the vet.. Best advice.. Hope this helps and best of luck xxxxxxxxxxx

He's a dog, that's how they communicate. He's probably barking because he hears something that he wants to tell you about. He may be talking to other dogs or animals. He may be warning someone to stay away. He may be hungry. But most of all, he's a dog that's what they do.

Get a bark collar. You can get them at any of your Pet stores. This usually trains them to stop barking at anything and everything after a while. I used them on my labs.

If you spray WD40 in it eyes that freezes its brain literally however that also kills it. Alteratively grap upper jaw and lower jaw in either hand a pull in the y axis. This stops it barking but again also kills it. If you dont want to kill it give it a pat on the head.
