This is a bit like 'neck' and 'throat'.

Stomach is internal; it's where your food's digested, but because it's so easy to find, people just use it generally to mean 'the bit below my ribs and above my bellybutton'.

Belly is also internal, but it means the whole abdominal cavity. The surface of this is called an 'underbelly' in livestock, but because humans are more often upright, the 'under' wouldn't make any sense, so 'belly' just gets used for the front of the abdomen generally (where the bellybutton can be found).

A lot of people use 'belly' to mean 'pot-belly' or 'beer-belly', because it's somehow a bulgey kind of word: if it's not bulgey it's usually a 'midriff' or 'flat stomach'.

No, there is no difference, unless you are talking about the actual anatomical organ, in which case stomach is correct. Belly and stomach are interchangeable. Stomach is another word for belly, and vice versa. If you hit someone in the stomach, you are also hitting them in the belly. If your stomach hurts, your belly is hurting, too. They are both used as a word for "abdomen."

Yes. The stomach is in the mid part of the abdomen and is basically a sack of acids and enzymes that breaks down food. The Belly is a nick name for the lower abdomen which contains the intestines. These digest the food and extract all the nutrients and liquids before they are passed on for excretion.
