I've noticed if I don't drink enough water (you know, 8 8oz glasses every day), I get more cramps in my calves. Try drinking more water. Also, get more potassium in your diet, that can also ward off cramps. If you stand in one place all day, walk in place, flex your feet as often as possible, try to keep it moving if you can at all. Hope some of this helps.

Try taking more calcium before you go to bed. I have experienced this cramping myself. Also, get a pair of shoes that are formfitted to your feet. You may have to pay some bucks but you feel the difference immediately if your shoes fit properly. I dont know what kind of shoes you wear to work but I know that when I invested in really good shoes, the cramps diminished. The calcium can be taken at any time but if you take calcium or a product called Bone Builder about an hour before bed, the muscles tend to relax. Also massage your calves with lotion after a shower or a bath before going to bed.

I believe the blood in your legs are not traveling throughout your body, so you've been receiving cramps. I get cramps once in a long while now, since I've gotten pregnant. Put a hot water bottle or hot water bag on top of your calves. This releases the tension in your muscles. Before you go to sleep, message your calves, so that the blood can circulate.

yup water helps but beware if u have water retention problems. do some squats every 1 hour or so during the day. before u go to bed, do leg stretch, standing leg crunch left leg bend right leg all the way to the back and crunch down on the left leg. vice versa at least 5 times. u can also do this instead of the squats. at nite, put a pillow on your feet, to prop them up while u sleep, it helps

I take a 300mg quinine tablet each night at bedtime and I find this helps enormously with cramp. Also, drink plenty of water, as much as 8 glasses a day if possible. A lot of cramp is caused by dehydration.

Try sitting on a dining table with your legs dangling down not touching the floor. When you are in a comfortable position ,slowly raise and then lower one leg at a time, reapeating for both legs.As you get used to this exercise ,you could add small ankle wieghts.
We are all made different ,but this works for me.
