Has anyone had a male dog who would hump other males in order to show his dominance and fight with them over that? and who was neutered at about 2 years old? Did he stop that behaviour after the neutering? I know he is supposed to improve, but sometimes not totally, because he is used to doing it anyway, but I will appreciate any personnal experiences.

The "humping" won't be as common, but it will still happen. Dogs are pack animals and need to find their place in the "pack". So trying to be the most dominant is natural and unfortunately this is one way to show it.

I know a Labrador that stoped humping other males after being neutered at 3 however I also know a bull terrier which did not stop (he was also neutered at about 3). From my experience Bull breeds do tend to hump a lot more than othre breeds though.

If you have several dogs, then neuter them all. It will solve any dominance issues but not immediately as it takes several months for the testosterone to disappear completely out of their bodies.
I have several dogs here and probably the worst was the shih tzu who would fly into battle at the drop of a hat. She was rehomed to me for that reason and for the week I had her before the vet appointment she attacked most of my dogs including the giant schnauzer. Within 3 months of being neutered she was a different dog entirely. I can highly recommend it.

It may help but sometimes neutering doesn't change their behavior at all.

To the poster above - females are spayed, males are neutered

to the above person, nutering is the common name, you spay a female you castrate a male. If your going to correct someone at least do it correctly.
