I totally agree with you, that the Catholic church is a haven for pedophiles. You can't oppress man's God-give sexuality without MAJOR repercussions. They're going to turn into deviants. Now, I believe that deviants come in various degrees. A pedophile should be strung by his nuts, as he is the lowest form of life. Catholic priests are getting it on with nuns, geting it on with each other. My guess is that the nuns abort their pregnancies, too.
BTW: I know a former callgirl who serviced a Catholic priest! People who believe that spiritual leaders are blessed with a superior set of morals are SERIOUSLY DECEIVED. I was told the intimacies of the conversation that the Priest had with the callgirl. He was just a man. In fact, he expressed extreme sadness and emptiness. He was embarrassed and ashamed, yet he told her that he had been doing this for many years. He was a nice man, but he had unrealistic expectations put on him. People would come to stay at his home for fellowship, advice and mentoring and he had to meet their expectations. He was a 20-year Chaplain for the military. And here's what most interested me: He used the "dirty" words for sex acts and body parts! :-)
Oh, I can't wait to get flamed. Religious zealots here hate the truth. And I don't mean to single out Catholics; I think all religions have their issues.
Edit: Did it ever occur to anyone that the desire to become celibate in the first place, might have something to do with associating sex with "sin" or lack of self-control? Perhaps many of these Priests were sexually abused or exploited as children, and they're trying to overcome the damage done? Maybe they feel like they have to overcompensate for the shame of abuse inflicted on them? I would like to see a study on this. Does anyone know of one?

Whovever reported this as spam etc., is definitely a bit dense. It happens. There is no call for thinking that this circumstance means that "Catholics are afraid of knowing how others think..."
Further, the sex problem in the Catholic Church is one that Catholics themselves are shocked and scandalized over. Catholics should not be trashed over the bad leadership of bad priests.
The sex scandals of the Church are not in any way unique to the Church - Foley is one example, schoolteachers and daycare workers are some others...in fact, anywhere there are vulnerable kids, and even vulnerable adults, there is danger of such things happening and they do...

I think you should know that there have been official complaints made to the BBC about the distortions, inaccuracy and bias contained in that Panorama program. So your link actually proves nothing.
Those who are not bigotted will surely investigate this matter further, and study representations from both sides of the issue before they jump to any conclusions.
Of course, I should know that this too much to ask of Yahoo Answers resident Christianaphobic.

Keep up the work, you are amusing a lot of people!

apparently sufficient, to procure 2 solutions so a procedures (Tom Dran and Desiree) and the two one in all them are honestly sturdy suggestion. Tom recommends yu locate different "christians" and carry out with those, which provides you help to your ideals. And Desiree, blunt as she is (diffused isn't in her vocabulary), additionally makes a stable factor. do no longer "push" your faith on others. in basic terms say you're "christian" despite if it rather is desirable in a communicate yet do no longer attempt to evangelise, in basic terms prepare your faith by residing it. (and in case you do no longer stay it, you could communicate shyt all day long and no-one will have faith it anyhow, they are going to in basic terms write you off as one extra hypocrite). ok, so which you're a "christian" in a private Catholic college. maximum in all probability, maximum of your classmates are additionally christian, why would you assume any hate from them in the 1st place? in spite of each little thing, you're writing from the u . s . a . the place 80-some p.c. of the persons declare to be christian. you p.c. exciting, attempt telling them you're atheist. then you definately will see the detest! advantages on your journey!

False teachers have learned that when truth and error are examined side by side, some begin to see the truth. False teachers are afraid of being exposed and of losing their members. Those with the right attitude toward the truth are always willing to test what they teach with others. They invite those of opposite views to work together for truth and unity. They appreciate when those who differ with them point out where they think they are wrong. They have everything thoroughly tested, studying arguments both for and against, looking at both sides of the question. Those with the wrong attitude toward the truth are not willing to test what they teach in fair and open discussion, privately or publicly. They do not invite others to point out where they think they are wrong, and do not appreciate when others try to do so. They won't allow their members to hear both sides of an issue, and especially they don't want them to examine opposing arguments.Catholics do not have the right attitude toward the truth. Catholics are not allowed, and especially are not encouraged to hear both sides regarding truth and error. They are not to read books that differ from their doctrine. Thus, they are encouraged by the clergy to be closed minded to anything that differs from Catholicism.

Isn't that a Yahoo violation? That has nothing to do with religion, but what some moderator thinks about your question and any rules it could be breaking.
And for your information, I can think of the Catholic church (my church) and not think of pedophilia. I think of a great environment, wonderful people, a welcoming atmosphere, and God.

There are over 2,000 Catholic families in my local parish that I can think of without the thought of pedophilia.
There are over 1.1 billion Catholics world wide that greatly out number the few sick and/or evil criminals.
With love in Christ.
