I feel like I've been going to my doctor a lot and he might be ignoring me. I've been having myoclonic twitches off and on for several months now. I told him about it and he didn't do anything about it. I still have the problem. I'm afraid that I will have a full fledge seizure if we don't figure out why these are happening.

The twitches happen every day and are worse when I'm at rest. I feel like a hyperchondriac. Should I pester him again? I was thinking about looking for another doctor. What do you think I should do?

These myoclonic twitches are outside the norm. I'm in the medical field and know that this isn't normal. We all have twitches, but these are bad involving the entire body or just a limb. But occurs several times in one minute...I should know what to do. Medical professionals are the worst when it comes to their own health....

Remember HE works 4 U!!! Sweety if u don't like the Dr's attitude don't trust him w/ur life! PLEASE drop that one and find another and another and another til u get what u need. I'm wondering why u r allowing someone 2 "run" u like that. Us women have 2 b strong and stand up 4 ourselves. Only u r in control of how u ALLOW folks 2 treat u!
Have u ever heard this one?

Don't even bother "pestering" your doc again. You need to get a different doctor. Even if you where a hyperchondriac, your doctor should never make you feel neglected, which this doc is obviously doing. If this doctor really thought that you where being a hypocondriac, he should address that with you, being as that is something a doctor should be able to see in a patient, sounds to me like this doctor is taking advantage of you and your frequent visits to his office, it makes for a bigger paycheck for him.

Something that serious, you should definetly switch doctors or get a second opinion. If you like the doctor that gave you the second opinion more than your regular doctor, switch!

I feel the same way. Something is always wrong with me & I feel like my doctor ignores me as well. But I just don't have the patience to switch doctors, I have an HMO & anything dealing with HMO's can be a complicated process.

Make another apt with your doc. Be very specific with him about your symptoms, your concerns, and what you are looking for from him. Ask him directly what he thinks may be going on and if tests or treatments that may be able to identify the problem. Ask for a referral to a specialist or let him know that you will be seeking another medical opinion if he continues to not seem concerned. Then, follow through with consulting another doctor. Good luck.

Do you have a history of hypochondria?

Forgive me if I have it all wrong, but I see from your questions and answers that you are constantly living in a world of neurological and neurotic mayhem, whether other people causing you stress, or you taking care of other people's ailments.

It is great to take care of others but not at your own expense. Sometimes we feel guilty about other people's sickness that we almost wish we were the sick ones... eventually our wish comes true. Doctors and nurses must learn not to absorb their patients' problems, but help them with detachment... otherwise they would end up killing themselves.

Again, please disregard if this doesn't ring a bell, it's just that I've been a hypochondriac in the past.

That sounds like medical malpractice to me, but I'm not a medical expert. His job is to help you; find a reliable doctor and get the condition remedied ASAP. As for the neglecting doctor, if he's ignoring you, he may be ignoring other patients.

No matter what your medical problem is your doctor should be there for you. That's what he gets paid for. If you feel like your doctor is ignoring you then you seriously need to find a new doctor. You know that what you are experiencing is not normal and if he's not willing to help you then you need to find someone who is.

If you're not satisfied with your doctor's reaction to any complaint, you are not out of line for finding a new doctor. It is his/her JOB to help you relieve and/or solve any problem you have. If the service you recieve is not satisfactory, go elsewhere. When problems are not resolved, people can get really sick, and if you're not getting proper treatment, find someone who will give it to you.
