IF YOU CLAIM THAT GOD WILL BLESS THIS PERSON REGARDLESS, SAYING IT IS POINTLESS

Christians know how to word a question and a command. They're not wording it correctly. So, when it comes to god, speaking incorrectly is ok?

No we are not telling God what to do... we are asking God to bless this person ....it says in the Bible... ask and you shall receive... so when I ask God to bless a friend or family member of mine... I know that the person will receive the blessing from God.... also God blesses all of his children whether we want blessings or not...

Hush and stop attacking people's religious beliefs. People say "god bless you" and it's meant to be a GOOD THING, not containing some hidden agenda. By saying it, the person is actually wanting god to bless that person, not actually saying that god WILL bless that person. It's a endearing phrase.

Anyway, you're still attacking people's religion which is very arrogant of you.

When you say "God bless you", you're not telling God what to do...that's something that you're wanting God to do for that person. Basically, because that person is still alive, He is blessed by God already, whether he wants His blessings or not!

It's a short quick prayer by that person. Sometimes if I say God Bless you to someone, it is a verbal reminder to me, and later on that day I will pray for that person.

May God Bless you in your circumstances today. Please let God's blessing bring you to a closer understanding of Him whether you are a believer or not. Maybe God's blessing to you will result in a blessing to someone else that you don't even know of. In Jesus name, I pray for you.

If I say God Bless you to someone after a sneeze, I say a quick prayer that that person doesn't get a cold or get anyone else sick.

I think if you preface that statement with 'May' then God can bless the person or not. When someone says 'God Bless You' I think they're just saying 'Thank You' in a more personal fashion (to themselves moreso than the receiver).

I ask God to bless many people - if He so chooses He will. I have a relationship with Father God and Jesus and I may ask Him questions - He is my Heavenly Father. It is not giving God a duty - it is asking a simple question like a father/daughter relationship.

It's more like wishful thinking, we hope that God blesses this person. And as funny as it might be we see that God has already blessed them because their head did not explode when they sneezed.

It is more like a request not a demand.
Like please bless this person, as he/she is in misfortune or grief. I know because he has blessed me, and I know I am special just like everyone else He has made.
When? when they are in trouble and need prayers. How? You just ask, Jesus said we could ask for help from our Father ( doesn't mean you'll get it, but no harm in trying ). Where? Wherever you are,He knows all and knows where you are and what you need. You are just conversing through prayer.

With all due respect from a fellow atheist, they are really just saying: May God bless you.
