I don't know where you live, but generally a good place to start is your state or county social services department. You may be eligible for foodstamps, general assistance and emergency medicaid. There are free clinics in some communities. You might also get assistance from charitable organizations affiliated will local churches, synagogues and mosques, etc.

I'm sorry it's such a difficult time for you. It sometimes helps to connect with other people who have experienced or are currently dealing with the same kind of situation. You might find this type of support at your local independent living center. These are organizations that are run by and for people with all types of disabilities. They've helped me sometimes. Your public hospital (usually a county medical center) serves the medically indigent. They have a sliding scale, so you may not have to pay a cent for your treatment or medications.
