It is not good for you in any sense. This food combination contains hardly any mentionable fiber, which means that the burger will sit and rot in your intestines while you are constipated. It is not good for your heart, as these greasy friend foods are high in saturated and trans fats that will clog your arteries and lead to heart attack or stroke. The high calorie count will add to your waistline, you feel tired and have no energy to enjoy life with, not to mention the embarassment of having to buy all your clothes at some Big and Tall store. If you are eating McDonald's for the price and convenience, you may want to take a look at your grocery store's freezer aisle. There are many new healthy frozen dinner options that are reasonably priced. Healthy Choice, South Beach, Weight Watchers, and others have waistline friendly meals that cook in minutes and are only a couple bucks a piece. If your digestion is a concern to you, Fiber Therapy pills or powders (Metamucil, Benfiber, etc) are a safe, but effective, way to manage that. Good luck! ♥

Your body does not know the difference between mcdonalds or anything else you eat. It breaks everythign down into fat, carbs, and protein and from each of those you get the same amount of energy. Are you overweight? Do you have high cholesterol. If you are putting on weight but it is not a bad thing then mcdonalds is fine. I am a registered dietitian but if you are gaining weight and passing up the healthy weight then you need to cut it down to one time a week instead of 3.
To find out how your weight compares
Males should weight 106 pounds for 5 foot and 6 pounds for every additional inch so a 5'5" male's ideal weight is 136
For females it is 100 for 5 feet plys 5 inches for every additional inch so a 5'5" females should weight 125 plus or minus 10% for body frame.

Therefore if you are over this then cut back and if you are under this eat away.

Well it's not great for you but the only thing that bugs me is that it is always McDonalds that gets the bad press.

Take SuperSize Me for instance - the same thing would have happened to that guy if he had eaten Burger King everyday, Pizza Hut, KFC or even a doner kebab.

I thought that programme was so boring and patronising and for all those people who actually watched it and went 'OMG - Imagine that, McDonalds three times a day makes you fat and unhealthy - lets boycott it and tell the world how evil it really is'

Did you really need a TV doc to show you that this would happen?

However, I digress.

Any kind of fast food three times a week would ultimately end up being bad for you but if it's the choice you wish to make then it's totally up to you.

It can't be any worse than smoking everyday or drinking and hey -it's your life so live it how you want to!

I think that there is a lot of hype about how bad MacDonalds is and I generally think it is all a load of rubbish.

The man on supersize me suffered because he was only eating one type of food and therefore suffered from malnutrition. If he had only eaten cake for that amount of time he would have suffered the same effects.

Three a week is quite bad though but nothing wrong with one or two a week. It's all about balance. If you eat three a week but the rest of your diet is all fruit and salads and grains, fish etc and you have a good exercise regime then it is definitely fine.

Yes it is in terms of too much fat, sugar and salt for the body to process it will eventually tell on your overall health. There was a programme on the television not so long ago, about the effects on your health even after two weeks the reporter could tell the difference big style.

Whta I have read recently is that this sort of food contains a lot of trans-fats which eman you put a lot of weigth on very quickly which is difficult to lose.

It's bad for you in the sense that the foods have an enormously high salt and fat content, and therefore don't represent a balanced diet.
