They have been friends for a while, but they had not seen each other in a while. They met at a wedding and decided to catch up. He called her to set up a place and time to meet and catch up. Does a girl see that as a date if the guy says he wants to "hang out" and "catch up"?

i think that he is asking her to give him a chance to know him more and see if it goes well or not before going on a DATE..

sorta. but just b/c a guy wants to "hang out and catch up" doesnt neccissarily mean he is asking her on a date. and they might be friends from way back and want to see what has been going on since they last saw each other
