swimming
helps you build muscle mass through resistance.

Swimming helps all your muscles and doesn't mess with your bones or spine. You won't loose weight, just gain muscle,as long as your body has protein. I usually drink protein/yogurt shakes in the morning with a banana to keep from losing any muscles.

Of the two - probably swimming because it gives you resistance. But if you want to be strong, do some lifting.

Swimming you can do a lot more movement in water then you can by just running. Plus you stay cooled down longer.

i agree with swimming... also maybe try some weight lifting. then you could eat more calories, and you would build muscle mass instead of fat.
