I saw a bunch of college girls in the bus.. they were gossiping so much and since they were so outgoing and talkative i could hear everything. And one of the things that impresses me is that they seem to never consider minorities or first generation americans who are not as assimilated into their ways of living. For example me, i'm a 1st generation american with mexican parents, i'm calm, quiet and i have an accent. Anyways but i often hear from white girls "Guys are soooo .....(fill in the blanks)" "all guys are....." And I'm so sure they are not including me or guys like me, or hispanic people in the mix. Maybe people who are outgoing, form their own little world in which the only people they care about is people like them. So these girls think about white guys or assimilated americans but can't think outside that circle. I find it interesting cause when i think of girls i think of american, mexican, japanese, indian, whatever.

I have to agree, many girls nowadays live in their own world like that. And some barely consider others to date outside their own race. I have a friend that is white and she says she is really into hispanic guys. But she has never dated a hispanic guy, just liked them over the computer. She still tends to go towards white guys though in reality of it. But to me she is more of a sheep, whoever says they like one thing, she will eventually say she likes it too. But for me personally, though I have a preference for white guys, I'm really trying to open up to everyone, cuz we are all in this world together and you just never know who your soul mate might be. I'm black and in college by the way.

With all the blazing hawt latinas I see at the local college, why would you really care. If I was 20ish again I would gladly trade you 2 vapid valley girl white chicks for a Jessica Alba Latina chick. I guarentee that after about 3 weeks you would realize you got the raw end of the stick.

I cant talk for american citizens however I can let you know that Australian women might love a satisfactory quiet man. its most effective flashy women that love to be noticeable with the flashy men when you consider that they believe they make each and every different seem bigger. On the whole, college girls like the type you described are pretty shallow, callow, thoughtless & yes, they tend to run with their own pack. It's nice that you think of "girls" as all nationalities, but
no - most women do not. If you see a woman with a man other than her own nationality, it's not going to be that she's out with him because he's Mexican, AA, etc - it's usually because something about that man's personality attracted her & she fell for the man, not the nationality. "love is blind"? Yes, sometimes.

Very interesting! I never thought about it that way. I would have to say that I do not. I haven't really had that much exposure to hispanics or had any hispanic friends. I really have only had close contact with one hispanic, my best friends stepdad. Now Mario Lopez!!! The guy on Dancing with the Stars! HOT HOT HOT! I would sooo date him.

I think it's sad, but you're right.
Generally when anyone generalizes a group of people, they are thinking from "their own little world".
But as far as your headline question goes, I think many girls don't open up their options enough, or aren't willing to date other people of different cultures. And it's sad, but it's how things go.
