There are various degrees of answers for this one. You could be asking "What makes you smarter at birth", or " what makes you smarter as you grow". Either case, the IQ is just a test of how easy it will be for you to reach your goal versus others. For some of us it takes a lot more effort to reach the same level of learning as somoene who is born to it more naturally. So basically what makes you smarter is clearing your head of rubbish, and open it up to new information. Search, research, study and expand your horizons. Don't set goals that are to easily obtained, but set the higher. Often reaching a goal tends to lose it's meaning if done easily. Apply yourself, do not be discouraged by the feats of others, but be encouraged by their feats. Bottom line? "GO for it".... And never ever say " I can't do it". Just think "I just need time"......

To be honest there is nothing. It's all about being active. If you are active in reading, writing and in other educational activites than you can be better at that. For example you should find out what is going on in your community and school. You should also be alert if anything is happening. Pay attention to everything and you will gain more knowledge. Knowledge is the key to better sucess and education. No one is perfect and no one is really smart. You just have to be very sharp and put your time and lots of effort into your education.
Eat healthy and properly, concentrate, pay and give your FULL attention and you will gain more knowledge

Education. Also memorizing things will actually increase the size of the hippo-campus in your brain. There was a study done on London cab drivers that proved that as they have to memorize all the streets in London to get their license.

Honestly nothing can. Your IQ is what it is and cannot be changed. Study and give it your absolute best. Do not think of yourself as a failure if you do not get A's or B's just do your best. And if your best is a C, feel good about yourself:) If your are doing your best and scoring below, you may want to consider other alternatives. Talk to your parents about tutoring or seeing an educational specialist..
