My jaw basically feels like it was hit with an aluminum baseball bat, and it's restricting me from opening my mouth wide enough to eat and chew. My throat hurts so bad even swallowing my own spit is a task of its own. I have been congested for about a week now, but the jaw and throat symptoms just started last night. I didn't get any sleep last night due to the pain. Please help meeee!!

Jaw pain can be a symptom of a sinus infection. I have had strep throat more times than I care to count. My symptoms begin with a sore throat and then I get a fever. White spots on the roof of my mouth and back of my throat along with vomiting, achy muscles, and extreme fatigue all follow closely behind. Gargle with very warm salt water. That will help with the severe sore throat regardless of the cause. Give you doctor a call. You may need some antibiotics to kick this.

sore throats are wicked. You will need a strep test to determine if it is strep. You may need an antibiotic even if it's not. It could be just a nasty sinus infection. Ibuprofen may help with pain and lots of chicken soup will help the throat and will thin the mucus. Strep can damage your heart so be sure to see a doctor. for the text they swab the throat and it takes 5-15 minutes for results.

The signs of strep throat is white blister like bumps in the back of the throat...but it sounds like you have a sinus infection with post nasal drip..and you're going to need antibiotics.

sounds like you have mono and i had it so bad i could not swol when i was 19 now are u tired all the time if it is mono you should get to a doctor and get on antibiotic's or you can die from it i all most did if you get a temp you should go see a doc bud
