Apparently it will be nothing like we experience on earth.

I have a feeling we'll be playing Parcheesi for eternity.

Why is everything concerning God and heaven unfathomable? Shouldn't have God been able to explain it to us in layman human terms, rather than having us guess forever?

You my dear, don't sound like a true believer. There is a difference in believing you know how to swim, and knowing how to swim.
I know how to swim and I know God exists. In Heaven we will be in unison. There is harmony. There is singing together in harmony, to the love, for the love, for our Heavenly Father.
It is not unfathomable, I just think we aren't ready for such tremendous beauty. And perhaps if we were born innately knowing it all ~ why on earth would we want to live here? Knowing there is paradise there? Answer: Because our challenge is to trust God, the undying faith that He will take care of it all, and if everyone KNEW FOR SURE there was heaven there would be no complexities of choice. Everyone would suck up cuz we all want to be happy. Don't guess, know. True faith my friend & neighbor, faith.
Only God knows why....

Praising God.

Deuteronomy 29:29
The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Galatians 3:24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25-But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27-For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

This is in the old testament but the Bible teaches us that the old testament is a schoolmaster.

First of all, no your question is not stupid. If you really want to know, read on.
Heaven is God's home, and place of government. The angels travel between heaven and earth as God sends them.
It is not the final reward as many religions say it is, and those who go there are assigned work with those who are resurrected here on earth. They are Kings over areas chosen by God, and others act as priests to educate and judge us according to God's directions.
God gave us an instruction book that require study to get answers, but he also created a people for the modern day world to come to for explanations. Here we stand. Check out our website!!!!!!!!!!

Those who are awarded heavenly life will indeed have work to do. The "little flock" of anointed Christians who receive that reward will be ruling as associate kings with Jesus, who will have not only the position of our King, but will rule alongside the small number of co-rulers as their divinely appointed leader. Accordingly, the way in which Revelation 20:4 states the matter is: “And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ [not, after the Christ] for a thousand years.” It is just as Jesus Christ said to his faithful apostles on Passover night, after he had set up a new celebration that came to be called the Lord’s Supper or Evening Meal: “You are the ones that have stuck with me in my trials; and I make a covenant with you, just as my Father has made a covenant with me, for a kingdom, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.” (Luke 22:28-30)
Those who go to heaven to rule in God's government, will not only be ruling as kings, but priests as well as stated at Revelation 1:6--"and (Jesus) has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." (New KJV)
Over who will these kings and priests be ruling? Those meek ones who inherit the earth and the dead ones who will be resurrected back to life. What will God's righteous government do for us and the earth?
God's kingdom under Christ Jesus will destroy the wicked, bring an end to hatred, war, sickness, disease and death, and restore this earth to a paradise populated by perfect, healthy men, women and children who will live in peace and happiness (See Daniel 2:44; Psalm 37:10, 11; 46:9; Isaiah 9:6, 7; Revelation 21:3, 4

just curious too... the bible states that there will be a new heaven and new earth... i'm guessing we'll be on the new earth, not in "heaven." the bible says that God will dwell with man on the earth in the new Jerusalem.

i guess we'll start over, taking care of the earth, but without all the bad things.

time to go fishing!!!

Is playing Parcheesi you idea of happiness? For me it's alot different. First of all it's going to take me a LONG time just to praise and worship Him. I see myself a a small child being cradled in his lap with His strong arms around me to comfort me as I cuddle close to His and whisper that I love Him calling His Abba (Daddy). Then I'll sail. He will be with me as we enjoy being together to enjoy His creation. Not much to do, name anything and He will be there to do it with you and enjoy your moments together..... Jim

Who knows. They're just all being suckered into it with promises of God's love. I bet it's a bit of a letdown to find it's nothing but a series of small room, each occupying 8 people, with not but a coffee machine, a sink and a snooker table with 2 balls missing.

If I was religious, I'd rather adhere to Norse religion. Nothing beats dining with Odin, surrounded by comrades and beautiful women. Although, saying that, I think I'd have to die in battle to be accepted into Valhalla.

Well, there's a huge party, lots of food, family and friends gathered around. I hear they have a great time playing charades, but God always wins. ;-P

Honestly, I think it's just being enveloped as energy in energy that is made up of love and good feelings.
