I have the same opinion about Norton products after a Norton program ate three PCs at my office.

Go-Back was originally written by Roxio and I used it for a number of years before Norton took it over. Norton took over the Go-Back operation because Roxio was concentrating on their CD-writing software. I have continued to use Go-Back since it became Norton's baby and it is still fine - Norton haven't messed it up! I use it on 4 Windows XP PCs and a laptop. It is still the same basic program with just a few Norton splash screens and different colour control panel - the functional part of it is still basically a Roxio product (which is probably why it actually works!).

I'm not aware of any alternative product that does the job - Microsoft's in-built System Restore doesn't do a complete job but Go-Back will revert your entire hard drive down to the last detail - like restoring it to before a virus attack happened.

Notes:-
* If you DO use Go-Back it will automatically disable the Microsoft System Restore
* If you defrag your hard drive after a long period without defragging then there is often too much activity for Go-Back to cope with and the "Go-Back History" is lost so you can't restore to an earlier time. The trick is to defrag once a day so that the activity at each defrag is small enough for Go-Back to cope with.
