Most digital cameras have an automatic mode - that you wouldn't need to adjust any settings - thus the category: 'point & shoot' cameras.
I suggest staying with the major brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus. You should be able to find something nice for about $150US.

I bought a Lumix 4.0 mp DMC-LS1 for about £100.
It is brilliant. Has a large screen, is very simple to use and takes very good qulity pictures.
Would thoroughly recommend it for anyone.

I would advise u to check out Woolworths they had a deal on a digital camera (simple 1) 4 only £29.99 and it was good quality!!

CHECK OUT JULY'06 CONSUMER REPORTS. MIGHT LOOK INTO CANON POWERSHOT A520 ABOUT $170, SONY CYBER-SHOTDSC-W5 ABOUT 220. At $100 or less I myself would not be interested in.
