If you were a soldier, defending your country, defending the freedom of your loved ones, would you kill your enemy? What if you knew the the enemy? What if both of you worshipped the same God?
What could you do to defend your loved ones and your values and beliefs at the same time?

The reason to fight is more important. If I was in Hitler Nazism, I would prefer to be jailed than to go to fight. But if I was a french, I would enter the resistance and fight back and kill the Nazis, be it my friends because that friend will be your enemy at war. To save your life, you should kill if you are under attack.

Well if I were a soldier I might feel some obligation to kill the enemy, after all the money invested in training me. You'd have to be a bit of a brat to go through all of that then not kill someone when ordered to. I would not, however, choose to become a soldier unless I thought there was an extremely good reason.

Its kill or be killed.
I know an old man who is a veteran of World War Two, he got shot, almost died--he is a certified hero with a Purple Heart to prove it. He hates war. He has been thru it, so he knows.
Don't you think the Germans prayed to God during World War Two? Or the Japanese, to Bhudda? What do you suppose God makes of all this? You are all my children, why do you ask My help in slaughtering each other and in turn your children as well?? The Saudi Arabian muslim extremists responsible for the 9-11 attacks believed totally with all their hearts that they were doing their God's will. So did the Germans in WW2. So did our side. But only God can know God's will.

Yes, to defend the freedoms that I hold sacred, to defend my family, my friends, and my neighbors, I would kill, if necessary. It would not matter if these enemies were friends, family, or followers of a cause I share or admire. I would not be happy about it, and I would do my utmost to work toward a fair and peaceable avoidance of war; but, if those efforts failed, I would defend those persons and ideals I value most highly, even if it meant taking the lives of fellow human beings who are trying to destroy them.

the Bible says that there will be wars and rumors of war--the first war was in heaven when Satan was exiled--so I think that God understands war and all those little technicalities that go along with it. My brother was killed in Iraq and even though he was a tank commander and was trained to kill--he never really knew if he could actually do it when the time came--he was a Christian and God knew his heart, so in a way I believe that he was spared that decision because two days before he was killed, he sent us an email letting us know that he hadn't had his first kill yet and how thankful he was because he had grown to love the heart of the Iraqi people.

IF I were a soldier I will defend my country & my family. You state that what if he served the same God I serve, How do you know what kind of God he serves. You also stated what if I knew my enemy. If I knew him then I would know what kind of God he serves. So if he is my enemy, then he is not my friend.

I would avoid being a soldier in the first place. If forced into that position, I'd be just as likely to frag my commanding officer as any enemy.

There ought to be muliple factors that ought that can assist you you interior the situation including climate conditons, time of day, ask your self methods, and all of the persons in contact expertise(to call some). additionally now that conflict's are often all fought with weapons it provides somebody with the desirable skills an means to combat and win against any sort of folk. as long by way of fact the guy has a terrific place with stable adequate fortification he ought to unquestionably %. off many human beings in the previous they even found out the place he became. yet another substantial element is communique. in the event that they enemy is completly unorganized and without experienced leaders it does not count if there became ten thousand of them. methods can continuously triumph over any hopeless difficulty. Battles are in no way won in simple terms on numbers on my own. ie. 3 kingdoms conflict Chi Bi against insanely hopeless odds, the shu-wu coaliton became able to sucessfully launch a hearth attack against cao cao fleet crushing a militia that overwelmed their very own. additionally they tricked the enemy fleet into securing their boats mutually (to avert seasickness for the fairway naval troops), and that secured the fleets dying by way of fact the hearth tore by using them in the previous they might get them seperated. Given the alternative all of us has 2 selection: -combat like hell on your final breath -or sit down in a corner, cry, and look ahead to dying what could you chosen in the adventure that your existence have been extremely on the line? could you have the means to maintain your composure as your persons are massacred around you? Any human has the means to pull off your question. it is in simple terms wether they understand have the means or not

Absolutely. That would be my job as a solider. You don't look at your enemy as a good fearing, god loving person. In war, it is kill, or be killed.
I for one would like to stay alive, so I shoot first, ask questions later.

Sometimes you are put in situations that are out of control. If my enemy could cause harm to my family in some way then it is my duty as protector to do whatever has to be done.
