HPV - the virus that can cause genital warts has a bunch of different strains a couple that cause warts and a couple that can cause cancer. The is now a vaccine that will be released soon. Girls should have the course of 3 shot by the age of 12. The virus is transmitted thru sexual contact and is what the doctor is looking for when a woman gets a pap test. So that is one type of cancer that is transmitted. Think of feline leukemia - that is a cancer that is spread by a virus between cats.

Some cancers may be hereditary, but cancer is NOT contagous. More than 3 in 5 people will come down with some form of cancer in their lifetime. Cancer patients deserve compassion and care, not unfounded fear.

Nobody knows why or how exactly people get Cancer.
It is still a mystery. One good thing is that you can't catch it by being around someone who has it. It is not contageous. This means that you can't catch it like you can a cold.
Because nobody knows how or why people get cancer, it is a good idea to take care of yourself -even when you're young. Try your best to eat healthy foods like fruit and vegetables. Try to drink plenty of milk and juice, and get some exercise playing too! I try to eat foods that are healthy, and now I try to make sure my family takes care of themselves too!
Cancer is a class of diseases or disorders characterized by uncontrolled division of cells and the ability of these cells to invade other tissues, either by direct growth into adjacent tissue through invasion or by implantation into distant sites by metastasis. Metastasis is defined as the stage in which cancer cells are transported through the bloodstream or lymphatic system. Cancer may affect people at all ages, but risk tends to increase with age, due to the fact that DNA damage becomes more apparent in aging DNA. It is one of the principal causes of death in developed countries.
There are many types of cancer. Severity of symptoms depends on the site and character of the malignancy and whether there is metastasis. A definitive diagnosis usually requires the histologic examination of tissue by a pathologist. This tissue is obtained by biopsy or surgery. Most cancers can be treated and some cured, depending on the specific type, location, and stage. Once diagnosed, cancer is usually treated with a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. As research develops, treatments are becoming more specific for the type of cancer pathology. Drugs that target specific cancers already exist for several cancers. If untreated, cancers may eventually cause illness and death, though this is not always the case.

No.
Infectious diseases are contagious. Cancer is not due to an infectious agent but a change in the bodies own cells.

It is not technically contagious. But if you injected cancerous cells into your body, like they do in test animals and test tissue, then you would very likely get cancer.
So one has to wonder about transfer of cancerous cells from transfusions, sharing needles, and swapping saliva.

There are many factors to cancer.
Heritage, lifestyle and something that's called oncogene ( Chemicals, virus infection)
So, cancer itself is not infectious, but many virues have the potential for cancer ( HIV, EBV, HPV,...)
Hope this link helps.

I am not sure what you are talking about. If you mean, can you get cancer by being around someone with it , NO. If you mean it is heredity related, meaning you parents or grandparents have it, are you likely to have some form, YES.
