My sister got a really good deal through Tesco Value Insurance for her first car. She is a bit older than you though. Most insurers will give you a free quote online so it's well worth shopping around

You can do some research on the top companies, but the main question is what kind of auto insurance are you looking for?
Are you looking for full coverage? which will cover everything from you hitting another car, motorist, property or someone hitting you.
Hope this was helpful!

You will need to shop around. I have Progressive and they are pretty reasonable. It also helps if you have had Driver's Ed. Most insurance companies will give you a discount for it.

shop around on internet. only go 3rd party as excesses and penalties on renewal for fire and theft are not wotrh it on a car worth less than a grand. you will be high risk if you go on parents insurance thats fine but if you have accident then your parents are responsible to make claim so will affect thier no claims so direct lines offer can be a mixed blessing.

I like Geico. You may have a problem with any provider being 17. Try an internet search and get quotes. Good luck
