he saids he is one we have been talking on yahoo for awhile and i never met him yet

Look for telltale signs like Uniform, badge, car with lights on top.
You've never met him but you've been talking to him on Yahoo. There's a pretty good chance he's not especially if you're under 18. He could be a politician though.

Ask for their Id. Then call it in to 911. Tell them that you are being pulled over and want to know if there is a cop in that area and ask for the cop's name. Only roll your window down 4 inches just enough to hand them your drivers license. Let the cop know that you are on the phone with a 911 operator.

if they are in an undercover car you can useally tell those by if you can see light in the grill or some extra, knida funny looking, antennas on the back of there hood plus the body of the car has just a different shape than most and they are USUALLY white (but i may be wrong), as for identeifiey them i would say try to get a look at their belt and see if you can spot their holster or the shiney cling of hand cuffs.

Ask to see their ID, not just the badge, and if yoiu're still in doubt, call the state police and verify this info.
