Hi Princess!
I just bought a calendar for 2002 and it's a Betty Crocker Calendar which has recipes each month for all kinds of cakes. I bought mine for a buck at Michael's crafts. Did you know Betty Crocker has a website? bettycrocker.com.
also, Pillsbury has one as well, and they for sure have recipes for brownies.
Give those a try. The Pillsbury website is a good one.
Have fun! J.

If you are making a cake for your Mom buy a Box Brownie Mix. I frequently make brownies from scratch because I have all the ingredients on hand. If I didn't have a fully stocked bakery I would make Brownies from a Box because they are really good and really easy. If it's for you Mom I'm sure she will appreciate your effort! And much less mess making Box Brownies.

Super easy brownies.
Other answerer's are right. Unless you bake a lot or plan to, it is much easier to use a boxed mix. You can make a couple of changes though and they will taste very rich and made from scratch.
Use what ever box mix you want. Instead of the water that it calls for, use milk. (same amount) instead of the oil, use melted butter or margarine. (again, same amount). Bake as directed on package.
These same substitutions will work for any cake mix too.
Your mom will be very happy and proud that you took the time to bake her a cake.
Good luck.
