I am an African-American female. I dyed my hair about one week ago. I need a relaxer DESPERATELY...lol. How soon can I get one without having my hair, break, split or fall out?

It is always safe to wait at least 2 weeks to a month. The relaxer will dry your hair out if done too soon. Also if you have just colored your hair I would recommend that you wait a month and then relax your hair, not only to give your hair a break, but because the relaxer will cause the color to fade out. If you give your hair a month of healing time then relax it, you will be able to recolor it two weeks after to rejuvenate the color that was lost. Be sure to deep condition your hair once a week before and chemical treatment to strengthen your hair, but, be sure to not condition for at least 48 hours before the treatment, the extra conditioner will cause the chemical reaction to slow down and you won't get the desired result!!

u could use a relaxer in your hair after u color it in 1-2 weeks so u dont cause damage to your hair and use a treatment for ur hair type

Y not kill 2 birds in 1 by buying a relaxor that has dye already in it.

well you are supposed to get the relaxer first, but wait another week or so because you dont want to damage it more. also condition it well. i suggest you go to your beautician for all your chemical service. there is less chance of damage.

Next time you should do the relaxer, then color 2wks later.
You'll have new growth now that may not be the same color as your hair.
