The Bible says to teach the children the ways of the Lord, NOT our ways. That is the first lesson. Let God speak to you...Spend time with him. READ and PRAY daily

Second lesson is you have to be submissive to your Pastors and their vision for the church. Show your commitment to your pastors by cleaning toilets, picking up trash, etc, etc.

Third lesson get involved with the youth activities of your church, get down and dirty with them if needed. Always be PREPARED for the unexpected. get to know your community (the world).

Lessons one and two are your primary lessons I applied these steps in my role as Youth leader for the past four years and I am still faithful to this ministry and I do it with a set of newborn twins!!
It is a true blessing in ministering to the youth, they are the future of our church and they are under a greater attack by the enemy.

Will be praying for you, God Bless you and may he guide you in your walk with him.

a willingness and perhaps a speech class might help. to this end practice may help. a belief in GOD and an understanding of how that belief works in your life. treating others with respect and being able to listen to the youth while incorporating some of their ideas as a gesture of respect. the best way to be a leader is to be a good follower first.

Depends on your denomination's requirements. You can also look into schooling, higher education, and seminars for credit that will help. Talk to your pastor....you really need a support system and guidance from other pastors and leaders in the church. Press on!
