I'm curious if HIV-tainted blood splattered on the open wounds of someone else, could HIV be transmitted this way?
I ask this, oddly enough, because there was a sequence in a Daredevil comic book in which a situation like this happened. One person was mortally hurt, and blood from this HIV-infected person, splattered on another person who had several open wounds.
Thanks.

As far as I know it depends on the amount of time t goes out of the body. If in this case it is splattered, I'd definitely get a check for it at your doctor's or any STD clinic in your area. Fact of the matter is just by touching a tip of a needle of a sero-positive person that had blood inside, if his blood enters your body and goes onto a wound, without panicking, I'd just be sure to test it.

It might not be right away, perhaps tell he doctor when it happened and he might just ask you to come a second time. Tests should take less then 2 weeks for you to have thenm back but the virur itself might take more time to build it's blocks within your body, some take up to three months, I'm not sure about HIV.

Yes. HIV can be spread by an infected persons blood getting into another persons open wound.
