They(illegals) have been "claiming" S.S. benefits, Medicare, Medicaid, and any other benefit that they can think of for the past thirty+ years now. Why do you think California and Texas along with Arizona and New Mexico(Border States), Kansas, Nebraska, and several other States are always trying to pass a "Prop**" Bill?
Our "Social Systems"(Benefit Programs) are "Bankrupt" and they need more ways(taxes) to "prop" the system up for six months to a year, because they are being"bled-dry" by every "non-citizen"(alien)!
Social Security in New Mexico is in a severe crisis, right now! State wide they will either have to lay-off 1000+ employees, and close a dozen offices throughout the state, or find 10million more dollars just to carry them through the rest of this year, then worry about next fiscal year when it rolls around. Drive by any S.S. office and you will see "late model" S.U.V's, or pick-ups in the parking lot, with "mexico-tag's"(license plates) on them, and they are there claiming "S.S. Benefits" that WE pay for; then you try to go get the "benefits" that you're entitled too! YOU WILL BE DENIED" your benefits!! You are a Citizen who pays taxes, so that does not entitle you to receive them, since you "no se' habla espanol," and are "proud not-to be an American!!!"
Also remember this; your insurance constantly goes up so that it will cover them as well! Someone has to pay for them "NOT PAYING" to benefit everyone else, right??

Did anybody ask for proof of citizenship when you got your SS card? What is really cool is something I saw on Lou Dobb's some months ago. You as an American citizen have to have 40 periods to collect minimum SS but an illegal alien can go back to Mexico and collect something after after 5 !!

I know that their children that are born here have access to it since they are citizens by birth. I don't know of any other way an Illegal could get those benefits. I would be interested to find out if it's true.

I have been told that parents from other countries who visit their children (legal or otherwise) in this country and stay a certain amount of time each year eventually register for social security benefits and get them.
