Without America there, North Korea would soon be twice the size it is now. It wouldn't be too long before Il would be attacking Mongloia or some other place. If he does get his bomb, he'll be eyeing up Japan. Like Hitler, Stalin, Wilhelm, and others, he thinks he's capable of ruling the world. " If only I had that damned bomb, I'd be stronger than God ".

Yeppers... It's worked for 50 odd years... despite North Korea's love of trying to sneak across the border, land on South Korea's beaches, kidnapping Korean and Japanese citizens...

Without the US's assistance (and UN Members Turkey, Great Britan, Australia, Canada, etc), South Korea would have been defeated and occupied by North Korea... Stalin's favorite puppet.

NOW, the South Korean economy is great, her military strong, and her people free and happy...

Sure there are always a few demonstration in the cities around final exam time... PLEASE note that "student" demonstrations almost ALWAYS happen around exams !! Interesting fact to ponder...

Look at the economic difference between N & S Korea,, without that protection South Korea would have suffered the same fate as North Korea. To bad the government in the North didn't jump on the bandwagon when they had the chance.

Kim Jong Il is insane, and is also in total control of what is now (as of this morning) a nuclear power.

Korea has been lobbing missiles over Japan for ten years that I know of.

And, South Korea is a democracy, but a poor one.

This is a set-up for a real tragedy.

Consider this: Instead of countries, imagine that they are individuals. Kim has got a baseball bat studded with broken glass, and he's waving it around two other boys, one who is young and weak, and the other who has got his arm in a sling (Japan's restriction to a Self-Defense force only). There is no police force. You come around the corner and see it. What should you do?

I don't know about you, but I'd break it up before someone got hurt.

Hell NO. These 30000 soldiers should be protecting the USA border to stop the illegals crossing into the USA.

What you and south Koreans see as protection the north may see as aggressive and hostile. Think about it.
