You can delete a file which does not show up on the Control Panel listing. Click on START, then click on Search. A window will appear so you can select the type of files to search (mudic, video, documents, etc.) Select Files. Then type in the name of (or a keyword from) the program you are looking for. Then click on search. The computer will eventually find your file. When you see it listed, right-click on the file name, and your screen will show you where the file is located. The search may take several seconds. Write down the info --- such as C:\Programs Files\ program name.
Now click on START, My Computer. Select the disc drive where the program is located, then right-click on the drive letter and select Explore. Proceed through all the sub-menus until you get where the Search said it is located. Finally --- when you get to the file name, right-click on it and select Delete. Some programs come with their own "uninstall" option. Try going to START, All Programs and look for your program. As you move the pointer over the program name, other options often appear. One of them may be "uninstall".

some programs that you download and install do not show up in add and remove as do programs that you install off a disk. You can always go into program files and open the folder and click install in there.

What I would be interested in knowing is just exactly why you're trying to hide it? Who you're trying to hide the program from? Is it an illegal copy? or is it a piece of software that you don't want your parents finding out about?
