What changed: Fathers living in the home.
Problem: A son needs a father for discipline and instruction. Statistically, ADHD and ADD children are boys who do not have a male parent in th home. This is a direct response to a societal change.

There are many good kids, but it seems like all I see are the bad ones! Our children are being rasied by the state and day care centers. It is sad

someone said 'growing up too fast'. that's true inasmuch as children are being exposed to decisions that they shouldn't have to deal with yet - sex, family finances, violence.... children should not have to deal with this kind of stuff.
but also, children are growing up too slow. mom and dad say, 'oh we don't want them to grow up too fast' so they let their teenage son sit and play video games full of sex and violence all day instead of mowing the lawn or helping a neighbor, things that would build character. moms and dads are putting their 15 year old girls on the pill so she doesn't have to be a mom too soon. but they are not teaching the emotional value of sex. they are not building up her character.
i don't think kids today have a lot of value for them selves. i think that most the people around them are so busy telling them not to grow up and to 'just have fun' that they are just ruining themselves at the hand of the people who are supposed to love and protect them.

there is not enough discipline in the home today. neither parent wants to be in that role, so neither bother.
