Uh-Oh! I think you're screwed. Your only hope is to check some of the temporary folders on your computer to see if it saved a back up.
Run a search of your computer with the first three letters of your file name followed by the * (e.g. abc*)

If you happened to email it to anyone it will still be in the email as an attachment.
Email attachments are saved the documents and settings folder for each user with a path like this:
D:\Documents and Settings\213047768\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK8C

If a file has been saved over there is no way you can recover. You may refer to earlier backup if you have.......... sorry for the bad news !!!!!!!!!

usually there is a temp file created (wherever you saved your document) and it is faded out (looks like it is hidden), Id say just take the file, copy it to another location, rename it and then try to open the document up.

If you have had it on your computer long enough and are using system restore, restore to a previous date before you overwrote it.
