you can give the dog the lowest dose of immodium (if he has diahrrea, 1mg) or pepsid ac (if he's throwing up, 1mg). i've done this numerous times with my dobie. the vet recommended both to me, immodium after she had her innoculations and started having diahrrea and pepsid when she couldn't keep her medication down. hope one of these works for you. oh, and if you need him to eat try giving some plain white rice mixed w/ cottage cheese or plain yogurt. it helps bind them and give them the protein and carbs they need.

What are these people thinking??! Do not let him eat grass!! That's a good way to upset his stomach even more.
There is one universal protocol that all veterinarians will call for in the first few days.
Take him off all food for 24 hours.
The following day feed him only a bit of rice. Can be minute rice, brown rice, doesn't matter.
On the third day you can start to mix in some plain, bland, cooked hamburger and carry that on for two days. By the fourth day he should be back on his regular dog food again. Remember what is best for him is very small portions many times a day.
Most likely he just ate something that didn't agree with him. If you tried a new dog food, you may have switched it too quickly. If you gave him a new kind of treat, bone, etc., do not give it to him again.
Be careful of dehydration, which can happen with a lot of vomiting or diarrhea. If during this process you feel he's getting sicker, or if after the three days he's not improved, take him to the vet, along with a stool sample if possible. Take him in right away if you see blood in his stool or vomit. Good luck!!

You need to find out why your dog has an upset stomach. Is he throwing up? First find out from a vet what has caused this. But in the meantime, try low-fat cottage cheese and rice.
For the first 24 hours do not feed your dog.
Then introduce cottage cheese and rice. Feed that to your dog for 3 days. If at anytime your dog gets sick, do not feed for another 24 hours, then start over with the cottage cheese and rice. Then slowly introduce your dogs food into the cottage cheese and rice.
It is important to find out first if your dog has ingested any poison or toys, etc. So seek a vets opinion.

Take him outside, if he wants to eat some grass let him, this is how dogs clean out there stomachs naturally, they'll know when they need to eat grass and when they don't, just let him eat some if he wants, it'll make him throw up but that's how they cleanse their systems out. If this doesn't work, you can always give him (grind up and put in a little of his food) some kind of rolaids or tums that people take to cure stomach upset. Hope this helps ya.

Try some plain boiled rice with a soggy weetabix mixed through (cold).
If the dog has eaten before and is sick, go to the vet.
If she hasn't eaten and is bringing up yellow bile, give her a tiny bit of food. She's producing stomach acid with nothing to digest.
Try and get the dog to drink some water to stop dehydration, you really should go to the vet and not ask amateurs like us.

Yes, grass is suppose to help dog's upset stomach. My dog use to just eat grass off from our backyard and it would vomit it out probably along with whatever was upsetting him.
So if you don't have grass in your home, then take him to a park.

My vet has recommended that I make some porridge, or cooked rice... use a beef or chicken broth for flavour. My dog will eat it plain...it settles their stomach. However do insure what is causing the upset before treating......with anything.....

Starve your dog for 24 hours, just give him small amounts of boiled (cool) water on a regular basis. When the 24 hours are up feed him a small bowl of scrambled eggs - they will help to bind him again, and then gradually re-introduce his normal foods starting with smaller portions than you would normally give and gradually increase the portion size.

If he's bringing his food back up, try feeding him cooked white or brown rice for a couple of days and then bring him to the vet to see what the problem is, if he's still not feeling well after that.
