I'm not big on math, but I sorta like it; so i joined the math team in my high school. last night I was extremelly bored, so i decided to surf through myspace and found the profile of the capitan of the math team. From there I went to the profiles of all the other members.
G... I threw up in my mouth just a little bit. In their Hobby info hey write that they like nonprotected + anonymous sext while enjoying mind-expanding drugs... I have also found out that the capitan himself was sneaking your the "Denny's" at midnight... how ridiculous.
are they all really a little crazy?

P.S. All of them are soooo good at math, but only math

I've yet to meet a talented person who was not a bit excetric to say the least, though the things you cited sound like about half the myspace pages, talented people or not. Society has glorified sex and drugs so people are bound to boast about it whether they've actually done it or not.

Given the social popularity of the average mathlete, I'd guess mostly their pages were unbased claims of each trying to match the egos of the others. If you really want to know what type of crowd you're running with, tell one of them you saw their myspace page. If their body language isn't enough to determine if there's any truth to it at that point, then ask them how much truth there is to it. It's best though not to do that in front of the other mathletes.

The fact that they like math is probably really secondary to the fact of the rest of their favourites, however kids your age like to experiment and see how many people they can freak out with outlandish statements.

Generally tho really talented people seem to be a little odd compared to the rest of the world. It's what is their ' genius' and makes them creative and talented. And this stretches from classical music composers, to athletes, to rock stars, to math geniueses to actors and every kind of talented person in between.

I guess it depends on how much genius you can tolerate to be with whether you continue with the math team or not. Maybe stick around and see if they are as wild as they claim. Who knows you might be with a bunch of people who may just change the world....for good or for worse , ya never know.

OK. I have no idea why you would really care, or what some of the things you said meant. It is their life and their profile, they can say what they want. My brothers profile on myspace is just filled with a whole bunch of sex and drugs bit too, he is only 16 and dropped out of high school last year. It is their business, not yours.

Sometimes it sure seems that way. Like Henry Ford for example. The guy was a genious in efficiency and spearheaded the industrial revolution by reinventing the manufacturing process.

He was also a paranoid, anti-semitic, racist, crank. Had he operated his company today the way he did in 1903 he'd be facing a discrimination lawsuit every week.

Seems as though people with a tremendous amount of talent have strange ways about them. Maybe it's because their brains think in different patterns from "normal" people. Everyone needs some mental relaxation from time to time, so maybe the mind of a talented person gets it's release in unusual ways.

This is what happen if you scratch where it don't itch. Why care what they like or dislike in their free time and it is theirs to do what they feel like. Lucky you have not seen my profile.
