12 large strawberries
6 ounces package semi sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Rinse and thoroughly drain strawberries. Chill for 20 minutes. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. Meanwhile, transfer chocolate chips to a zippered sandwich bag and place in a bowl of very hot water until chips have melted.
Dry bag carefully and set into a small bowl. Spread open top of bag. Hold leaves and stem and dip strawberries, one at a time, into chocolate to coat to within about 1/4-inch of leaves.
Allow any excess chocolate to drain back into bag, then place strawberry on baking sheet. Any remaining chocolate may be refrigerated in the same bag for another use.
For best appearance, set berries aside in a cool place until chocolate is firm and serve immediately. Refrigerate for longer storage, but this may cause condensation to form on chocolate

I am assuming that you are speaking of chocolate covered fresh strawberries. Melt a bag of Milk chocolate chips in a double boiler. Add a small piece of paraffin wax to the chocolate (about 1/4 square per bag of chocolate). After strawberries are cleaned and dried as well as possible, dip the strawberries one at a time into the chocolate. Remove immediately after coating and place on wax paper to cool. Remove and enjoy. If you only want to do a few berries, you can use a Hershey's candy bar, melt it (no need for wax here), dip, and enjoy. Good luck.

A simple way to make Chocolate Covered Strawberries.
In a glass bowl place 1 pound of chopped bittersweet chocolate, chocolate chips are OK. Heat 1 Cup of cream until it's just about to boil. Pour the cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 5 minutes. Using a Spatula or a whisk gently whisk the cream and chocolate together. Be careful not to whisk air into your mixture. When the chocolate and cream or combined you will have a silky smooth Chocolate Ganache. At this point you can dip your clean and dry strawberries in the warm ganache and enjoy like chocolate fondue or place your strawberries on wax paper and allow the ganache to harden.

CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES
2 pt. strawberries
1 lg. bag semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/4 c. Crisco (lard not oil)
Wash and dry strawberries. Melt chocolate and Crisco in double boiler. Dip strawberries in hot chocolate and put on tray covered with wax paper or Saran Wrap. Refrigerate until chocolate is hard.
I sometimes add 1/4 to 1/2 cup rum or whatever I have on hand. Enjoy!

They make a Dipping Chocolate. It's in the bake goods isle at the grocery store. You just melt the chocolate in the microwave and then dip the strawberries. Place them on wax paper to let the chocolate harden and then eat.

I melt some semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave and then dip the strawberries in the melted chocolate.
(You can also dip dried apricots, pretzels, cookies, etc. this way too!)
I place them on a tray to dry/harden.
Store them in the fridge.... if you have any left, that is!!!
Yum-yum.... A very elegant & sensuous delight!

I'd use milk chocolate morsels instead of semi-sweet. You need the crisco for it to work right.
