Jehovah's Witnesses consider the Holy Scriptures as the final word in all matters of worship, and actually encourage their adherents to elevate the bible over the human traditions which pass as worship for too many so-called bible students.

(Matthew 15:3,9) [Jesus] said to them: “Why is it you also overstep the commandment of God because of your tradition? ...It is in vain that they keep worshiping [God], because they teach commands of men as doctrines.

(Mark 7:8) Letting go the commandment of God, you hold fast the tradition of men.

(Colossians 2:8) Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ

JW's do accept Jesus as the Son of God. The different names that they've called themselves over the years (I wasn't alive for any of the changes) were never right or wrong. They were just names. The commonplace christian belief distorted the scriptures; like I often tell people, just do the research. The Bible Students main goal was always to get back to the pure worship that was around before it was paganized.
Some people are annoyed by us, still others are glad that we took the time to talk to them and teach them the truth from the Bible. JW's have the truth. That's why I became one.
***Robert K, the Watchtower and Awake! magazines are not viewed as equal to the Bible at all. They are Bible study aides.
***C T Russel is not the cornerstone of the congregation. Jesus is. Nobody in the organization views him as special in any way. He was just the guy who, along with a small group of people, started looking into the Bible for truth.
***Jehovah did not materialize a resurrected body for Jesus. Jesus materialized on his own, just as angels have done many, many times.
***The Bible is what teaches that there is no immortal soul; not the JWs. (Gen 2: 7; Ezek 18: 4, 20)
***JWs do not take verses out of their context; rather, it is discouraged. No one refuses to read verses in their context.
***JWs do not have theological presuppositions. Our authority is the BIble; rather, it is everyone else who use presuppositions to interpret scripture. For example, check out the history of the trinity doctrine.
***JWs have never altered the Bible. It was altered in the first place when pepole started taking God's name out of it, and altered again in the KJV. And yes, there is evidence. I'm not just saying that; look it up. The mistake most people make is thinking that the KJV is the official christian bible. It's just one translation.
***JWs never changed the meaning of any words. Again, it is the original church that did. What we believe is according to what the actual Hebrew, Greek, and Aramic words mean (or in some cases, meant at the time. For example, stauros didn't come to sometimes mean "cross" until it was translated as such in the bible. If you don't believe me, look it up.)
***We do not latch onto one verse to interpret others; however, we do believe that the Bible has to harmonize with itself. If a teaching contradicts what the rest of the Bible says, then we shun it.
***Evident to the fact that we don't have a set rule of doctrines that we hold on to at all costs is the fact that we've changed so much over the years. Many people view that as a knock against us, but really, we are a people dedicated to Bible truth. That is the only motivation behind everything we do. Whenever we find out that something isn't biblical, we act and move accordingly.

Is the Jehovah's Witness religion Christian?

The answer to the question is, "No. It is not Christian." Like all non-Christian cults, the Jehovah's Witness organization distorts the essential doctrines of Christianity. It denies the deity of Christ, His physical resurrection, and salvation by grace. This alone makes it non-Christian. To support its erring doctrines, the Watchtower organization (which is the author and teacher of all official Jehovah's Witness theology), has even altered the Bible to make it agree with its changing and non-Christian teachings.

Typical with cults that use the Bible to support its position is a host of interpretive errors:

Taking verses out of their immediate context.
Refusing to read verses in the entire biblical context.
Inserting their theological presuppositions into the text.
Altering the Biblical text to suit their needs.
Latching onto one verse to interpret a host of others.
Changing the meanings of words.
Proclaiming some passages to be figurative when they contradict their doctrines.
Adding to the Word of God.

We are told to be witnesses in the New Testament, but not once are we referred to as Jehovah’s Witnesses. Why be called a name "given to you by God," only to change it three more times?

If God gave the JW's the name they now have, were the names they had before wrong?

If they had the wrong names before, what makes them so sure that they have the right name now?

How much does that speak to their credibility?

Zion’s Watchtower society 1884

The People’s Pulpit Association 1909

The International Bible Student’s Association 1914

Jehovah’s Witnesses 1931

Why were they without a name that they believe was divinely given to them for sixty years? Russell never came up with “Jehovah’s Witnesses,” it was a title that he never used or intended to.

Why is it that the teachings of Russell have slowly disappeared? As the founder of this group, shouldn’t he be a cornerstone for what is being taught?

Why isn’t anyone held accountable for the prophecies being spoken?

Why would I want to join a church that was born of lies and confusion? "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." I Corinthians 14:33

The Watchtower has the right to make these prophecies (all false so far), but when they claim to God’s only voice on earth, their integrity is destroyed. Why should I believe them, when they have such a bad track record? Lies and suppression of facts are common in politics and business, but one expects to find honesty in those who claim to be speaking for God.

If you become a JW and then leave them because of their false teachings, you will be literally shunned. You family that remain in the organization will not be permitted to even talk to you!
The Watchtower Society is the only source of truth on earth today and your soul will be destroyed if you refuse their organization.
The Watchtower Society and its followers are all prophets of God today and the Governing Body is directed by angels from God.
The Watchtower and Awake magazines originate with and are treated as equal to the Bible.
They deny the that God consists of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
They deny the deity of Christ (Arian view) Jesus is a created being also called Michael the archangel, and was the first and only direct creation of God.
Jesus was not the Christ (Messiah) until age 30, even though their own bible says in Luke 2:11, "because there was born to you today a savior, who is Christ the Lord."
They deny the bodily resurrection. After Jesus was buried in the tomb, Jehovah dissolved his body into gases and it disappeared forever.
Jesus rose invisibly in three days, so Jehovah had to "materialize" a fake body for him complete with fake nail prints so His disciples would believe it was really Jesus risen.
They deny the personality of the Holy Spirit (viewed by the Watchtower organization as "God's active force", similar to radio waves)
They deny man consciously survives death.
They teach the eternal punishment of the lost is annihilation.
They deny the bodily, visible return of Christ (Christ's "return" was only His "turning his attention" invisibly toward earth in 1914, and there was an invisible "rapture" of the dead members of the 144,000 in 1918.)
The cross is a pagan symbol of sex worship, and that all buildings or persons displaying the cross are likewise pagan. Jehovah's Witnesses deny that Jesus died on a cross but a stake. However, recent "new light" in the Watchtower now admits they are not certain about the cross, but will continue to deny it anyway. Further, the watchtower originally claimed it was a cross.
No one goes to heaven but 144,000 Jehovah's Witnesses.
They teach Christ is the mediator for only the 144,000, not the average Jw.
Teach only the 144,000 must be "born again", not the average Jw.
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob etc. were to be back on earth as perfect humans in 1925. The Society built a palatial home called "Beth Sarim" for them BUT when the patriarchs failed to show up, the President of the Society moved in.
Their light gets "brighter and brighter", allowing for many changes and "about faces" on their doctrines. Yesterday's error is today's "truth". Often the "light" bounces back and forth from old to new views and back again! (Might we call this discarded truth… "black Light"?)
Blood transfusions are rejected and if a Witness receives one willingly, it results in his eternal death. However, the society allows Hemopheliacs to consume blood for medical purposes to save their life.
To salute the flag is an act of idolatry.
Participation in any civil holidays, mothers day, birthdays brings condemnation of God.
Only persons who use the true name of God, Jehovah, will have their prayers heard by God. No salvation is possible without using the name "Jehovah."
