Haven't atheists in effect turned against God. Look at the questions in this section from atheists, see the insults they heap on God and His people.

Psalm 14:1 - "To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."

That sums it up pretty much right there.

To the atheist above : To say you are not corrupt, is to say you have never sinned. Is that what you proclaim?

To say you have not done abominable works, is to say you have never had pre-/extra-marital sex, and have never rejected the Lord God. Is this what you proclaim?

To say that you have done good, do you compare your deeds to the deeds of God, for even Christ Himself said, "Why do you call me good? There is none good, except God". Is this what you proclaim?

Does it say the Samaritan was inherently bad because of his beliefs? His religion wasn't an issue so it seems that what God really wants is tolerance and compassion for others rather than adherence to creeds and dogma.

Yes it does. It refers to us as fools.

-------------------
Psalm 14

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
-----------------------

This ofcourse is incorrect because there are Atheists that are not corrupt, and have not done abominable works, a lot have done good.

Not many people think we have though.

The fool has said in his heart: "There is no God"

The wise man doesn't just say it in his heart, he shouts it to the world.... It's called having an epiphany
