Personally I would debate about vegetarians Vs meat-eaters.
You could get accounts from both sides of the argument and demonstrate the thinking behind someone abstaining from meat, fish, possibly dairy products. On the other hand you could also discuss why we need to eat meat,in other words, have a balanced discussion. Conclude by weighing up the pro's and con's of each issue.
Good Luck!!

Jamie Oliver's "School Dinners" are a very popular topic at the moment, so in that vein, how about a presentation on healthy after-school snacks for kids. Another suggestion would be to go buy the current issue of "BBC Good Food" magazine, have a browse through it and find an interesting article that you can make your own by putting it into your own words. On page 164 of the current issue, there's an article on a light-hearted look at food and drink tongue-twisters. Great article, that you could re-jig into your own words.

Why not talk about a specific diet, for example the blood group diet, "Eat right for your type" or any other "fad" like the "South Beach" diet.

This would give you the opportunity to discuss the recommended "food Pyramid" versus the recommendations made by one of these diets. The effect of celebrity endorsement etc. Allows you to relate it more as an informative "story," which is easier for your audience to relate and listen to.

You can then conclude with perceived benefit's and potential dangers of a restricted diet.

If you google any of these suggestions they all list loads of sites.

Try to pick something that interests you, that way you will enjoy it more and your presentation will be more enjoyable for you to research and deliver.

Good Luck

Was there an interesting cuisine in your home growing up? Or do you have a fondness for a certain style of food? Do you have traditions based on food (like special Sunday dinners, or brunches on the weekends, or birthday dinners, etc?) Tell a story about food and drink, say what it means to you, then present a menu and recipes for a meal that would fit in with your story. Have fun!

Well I would say make sure it's relevant to whatever course you are doing. Good subjects would be child obesity giving examples of good and bad meals & drinks for kids, or how nutrition affects your skin. Make sure you sound like you know what your talking about, that's the main thing.

How about talking about food history, how what we eat today has changed compared to what your grandparents ate, what used to be considered healthy etc? "food in the 50's vs food of today?" You could make it fun and interesting and use older relatives for information.

sounds quite horrible, standing up infront of everybody and talking for 20mins, no thank you. As for your topic why don't you talk about that Jamie's school dinners thing, it's been all over the news and papers for ages and it should be easy enough to find information about it. Good luck

There are a number of questions... Who is your audience? If it's an over 21 crowd, I'd talk about alcohol, how it is made, and its history.
If it's another crowd, then talk about nutrician, and avoiding too many sugars.
Look through previous questions/answers and see if something catches your eye, or post more information on what you are looking for.
Good luck
