It might vary from place to place. I did not have it once and as I had other id and was on their list of registered voters I was allowed to vote. To be sure you might want to call your county clerks office.

depends on what state you live, but most places you can vote without your voter registration card. Just be sure to bring some sort of Id, such as your driver license.

In the US they have a list of registered voters. If you can identify yourself and you're on the list they let you vote.
