Yes, but trace amounts of stuff like vitamin c. Yes, it counts as one of the '5 a day' and it contains a substance that's supposed to make you fall asleep. Cucumber's pretty much the same, but it's much nicer!

Lettuce contains zinc, vitamin C and it's a good source of fibre. Cucumbers contain trace amounts of vitamin C, but the skin is better for you than the white middle bits.
The general rule is that the darker green the lettuce, the more vitamins and minerals it contains.

iceberg lettuce has no value in it, the butter lettuce, and darker leafs all have value
cucumer has value
and all mentioned [except iceberg] is counted as 1 for the day normal size of letttuce but if you eat double then 2

Well right now in the US its is "watery crap" because they found e coli in the water thats on the lettuce of the "Foxy Lettuce" brands.

Lettuce does not contain fiber. It does, however, contain roughage, which is necessary for your colon. But it has miniscule nutritional value.

Iceburg doesn't. Your darker colored ones like Romain, Endive, etc tend to have more vitamins. Too bad about fresh spinach, it's loaded with vitamins......
