God rested on the seventh day to show us as humans to live. Work hard for 6 days and rest and worship Him on the seventh.

true GOD did not need to rest because HIS power is inexhaustible. HE rested so that HIS creations would have the opportunity to rest because HE created man in HIS IMAGE but realized man would become exhausted without a day of rest. in addition man needed a day to pay honor, adoration, to his CREATOR by performing certain Rituals and Ceremonies as prescribed by GOD.

He Rested as a living example for us to follow, just as any good parent would do. He knew that for our own health that we needed a day of rest, and he would not ask us to do something that He would not do himself. All life needs a ratio of 7:1 rest. Even good farmers know to rest their fields every seven years

I don't believe God did because He had to, but He set the example for us humans who do need a day of rest.

1. As an example for us to follow
2. Rest in that phrase also can mean "no longer at labor in a sense of completion"

God didn't need to do this. His work was done and that is what He wanted to do. Surely, you, as a fintie, limited human occasionally do those things that you don't need to do but elect to do, don't you?
Maybe you thought God was a workaholic....

I dont think it was to rest as much as it was to reflect on the beauty of his creation. He was teaching us that on the 7th day we should rejoice in all that God has provided for us.

Good question, God did not rest, he sat on the throne, the bible is wrong by using the word "rest"

Union rules clearly state...
"When creating the universe and everything in it, Thou shalt not work the 7th day."

Have you seen how vast this earth is?
Not to mention the very universe it exists in?
Know I know that this is going to be a bit over our heads, but imagine CREATING EVERYTHING> who wouldn't need a break?
