There should be a symbol on the bottom that looks a bit like a stylised oven, or it will just say in words.
If you're not absolutely sure it's ovenproof don't put it in the oven. If glass isn't designed to go in a tosty-hot environment, it can crack, split or even explode due to uneven heating throughout the plate. This goes for putting it on a hotplate by accident too (don't ask!)...

If it's oven proof it will have a stamp on the bottom teling you so. Otherwise don't even think about testing it because it can crack or even explode in the oven. Not only will you then end up with a broken dish, you may even end up with a broken oven. Oven-proof dishes are relatively cheap to buy these days, especially from supermarkets, so if in doubt, just buy a new one.

Oven proof glass is only oven proof because it has been specially treated, the most popular brand of oven proof glass is pyrex, but it can still be ovenproof witout being pyrex. It will tell you somewhere on the dish!!

It should tell you on the bottom of the dish, but if you are still unsure, rather not put it in the oven.

It has to be tempered (spelling) aroc or pyrex or duralex, otherwise it will crack. The only thing you can do is to test it, just put water in it and turn the oven up high. If it breaks you have only spilt water nothing more permanent.
