Listen; when it comes to appearances, I am one of the most shallow guys on this board. But even I am not bothered if a woman has pubes..what's the big deal? Please explain to me why the whole coochie shaving thing is deemed necessary in today's society.

I shave and I prefer it because it feels better and is easier to keep odor free.

Today most couples practice oral sex and no one wants pubic hair in their teeth or mouth.

It's a personal choice. I like my guy to keep his trimmed or shaved as well for the same reason.

smooth and silky......

Insist? I'm not sure that's as prevalent as you suggest. Leaving that aside, however, and let's say why do some guys like their partner to be bald down there?

1. Shaved means no pubic hairs to get stuck between teeth;

2. Shaved means to pubic hair to catch those droplets of residual urine;

3. Shaved connotes the innocence of younger days (hey, I'm not condoning, just making a proposition;

4. Shaved means smooth and can be fun to slide around on if the male is clean shaven, or imparts the tickling sensation if (like me) he had a beard and/or moustache.

5. Not from the guy's perspective, but I've had bald women friends who say t hey love the feel of their panties rubbing against fully exposed labia lips.

Do I like it when a partner is bald? Yes!
Would I insist she be that way? No!
Having been shaved for my vasectomy, I can attest to the fact that growing it back out is itchy as hell.

Bottom line - Any guy that insists his woman do *anything* she does not want to do is being pretty insensitive, and is probably going to be without a partner if he continually has that perspective.

Weellll You know Pubic hair is natures dental floss and I like the feel of smooth skin with my (Stoppppp)

I think It's an evolutionary process and we are teaching our genes to reduce. I have less hair than my father and he had less hair then his grandfather, not because of shaveing but more because of cloths and hair isn't necessary because it is an insolation feature and also a lubricant like in oposing forces although lotions and oils are telling our genes.

I envy my great-great grand children, especially when the cost of replacement razor blades will that of a new house today

I don't think guys do insist on women shaving, and it certainly isn't necessary, but I it's more of a fashion statement these days to shave, whether male or female.

My wife chooses not to, but as a naturist I would say that a lot more naturist women, of all ages, shave than don't shave.

I wish I understood as well. What I really don't get is now the women are insisting the men shave everything down there too!
Is that really necessary? Trimmed, perhaps - for women, that's much more "sanitary" at times, but shaved testicles just look like a hairless chihuahua & are totally unappealing to me. I don't get it, either.

I think it's because it shows a woman cares about her appearence and takes care of herself? or if they're giving her head they don't want to get pubes in their mouth....

I personally hate if there is hair there...my boyfriend has never told me to shave, he would rather want some hair there, than not...For me, its a hygienic decision, its just a lot cleaner and smoother :)

To each his own :)
