Hi
i'm getting married in 10 months and am in a similar position to you, except i eat rubbish, but go to the gym loads. I've lost a stone already but the last one won't shift! You can eat all the healthyt stuff you like but you have to excersize to get rid of fat. you don't have to join a gym (although it really works!)
Try doing a class instead of the gym, they can be a bit more fun, aerobics, step, spinning (hard but gets good results!) It also helps to have a buddy go with you to keep each other motivated.
Once the weight starts to drop off its addictive!
You could also try talking to your G.P. Sometimes you can have an intollerence to something you don't know about that can prevent you from losing wieght.
Don't foget that losing weight isn't the be all and end all of a wedding!
Good luck!

This sounds a unique situation....
I guess it depends whether you are actually overweight to start with.......clearly what you take in through calories is being burned off by what you do.....and as you seem to be healthy this implies that you are at the correct weight......As you don't say what height and weight you already are and what your desired weight is for the wedding this is a tricky one to judge...I hope you are not attempting to become unhealthily under weight for your wedding anyway.
In terms of losing weight....three simple things I guess. Diet - which seems to be fine although you could always eat less of the same things. Alcohol..........well there is nowhere to go on this one so well done there.......
And exercise. You diss previous answers but this seems to be the main hope for you.....you need to do more. Clearly, and no-one would disagree, the gym is tedious.......so maybe try some more interesting things to do. Whether that be walking, cycling, yoga classes etc...only you can decide. But as you have been so dedicated in terms of the diet and alcohol I am sure there is a solution that you can conform to.
Good luck....

There is only way to lose weight and keep it off. Less in, more out. Make sure you are actually getting all the requirements in nutrients for a person your age, low-fat foods can be high in sugars. You should eat in moderation, not diet. You need to exercise, the body was meant for that. If you don't like the gym, then walk. Walk in the morning, at lunch and evening. Start out comfortable and you will find yourself able to pick up the pace in a few days even. Drink water. If you aren't already, never ever eat food at a fast food restaurant, check the calorie content of small things, like salad dressing, don't drink soda, even diet soda. Eat whole grains. While fruits and vegetables are an important part of your diet, so are carbohydrates and proteins and yes, fats.
Good luck and stop stressing. You don't need this right before you get married.

You may need to drink more water. I am also struggling to loose weight (120 pounds) to be exact and have strted a new regimine with water. I drink 10 ounces before and after each meal and snack. Walking is one of the best and least expensive ways to take off weight and become more physically strong. If you don't want to go to the gym, I suggest you purchase a treadmill and a pair of Trekking Poles and walk your way to health. The Trekking poles can be purchased on line, just type in the word Trekking Poles in the search section and you will find all kind of poles and prices. I found a great Treadmill on Wal-Mart.com for $298 and it's weight capacity is 350 pounds. You sound like you are doing great on the eating plan, just try the water and the walking and you should do fine. Good luck and God bless.

There are some things that are missing from your diet that I don't see in your post.
1. Since you are a vegetarian, I wonder if you are getting enough protein. Certain proteins help the body utilize fat better.
2. I don't see water listed. You need to be drinking half of your body weight (U.S. pounds - 14 pounds per stone) in ounces (or 29.5 ml) of water. Example: If you weigh 200 U.S. pounds or 14.28 stones, you need to drink 100 ounces or almost 3 liters of water.
3. Exercise is barely mentioned. Walking is a good way to lose weight.
NOTE: You may want the assistance of a tune up plan. Stack Body Tune Up has a protein ice cream drink, citrus boosters, and an herbal supplement.
I have lost 33.5 pounds or a little over 2 stones since July, 2006 by using the Stack Body Tune Up.
If you apply 1-3, your weight loss will be helped. If you apply the Tune Up, you may be able to add the necessary proteins to burn the fat more effectively.
If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

Do you eat lots of carbs like potatoes? Are you still pouring on the salad dressings? Cut down on your carbs and replace with more of other vegs.
What you really need to do is exercise, just get your heart rate up. This will help improve your metabolism and burn your calories better. To loose the sort of weight you are on about you will really need to do some classes at a gym. You probably won't work yourself hard enough on your own.

Clever of you to tell us what you weigh in the first place...!
Forget the gym, I always found the places extra depressing. Swimming is jolly good - half an hour a day and it will tone you up nicely. Also, remember that you may be placing too much emphasis on the weight losing, and not enough on the fat losing, i.e. if you have cut out all the fun things, and have been doing a bit of exercise, it's odds on you've lost fat and you've gained a bit of muscle. I've always hated quorn too, so I prefer felafel and couscous.
Best of luck for the wedding!

The human body, on average, burns 1200 calories a day, without exercise. If you suddenly try to eat less than that, your body will anticipate famine, and store even more fat! So make sure you are eating at least that many calories. There is alot of controversy about Quorn! It would be better for you to use natural mushrooms, or truffles, as Quorn is a man-made fungus, with hardly any nutritional value. Are you eating breakfast every day? That's a must! Try going for a 20 minute walk every day, to jump start your metabolism. Good luck, and congratulations on your marriage!

Although you believe you are eating more healthy foods, they are probably high in carbs. As you are not burning off calories your body still converts this to stored fat. You need to walk ,cycle or do some other form of exercise, the gym is not the only place where this can happen. A good tip is to limit food intake after 6pm in the evening as from that time we tend to laze around more. I found drinking water when hungry puts hunger at bay. Be aware that a lot of veggie ready meals are high in sugar, salt and saturated fats. Good luck and don't give up!!

Sometimes when you start to eat healthier you can put weight on before you lose it, I could probly tell you why aswell but that'll take too long.
If your eating well then you should lose weight, but you do need the exercise aswell though, if you don't like the gym, try and do other stuff to get your heart rate up, even stuff like taking long walks and swimming n stuff should help.
