This is an inter-faith event.
We are asked to fast one meal aday for the next 30 days and spend time in prayer for:
the church
the leadership in the church
the salvation of friends and loved ones
healing
the nation in which we live
and our Muslem and Jewish neighbors.
This is not sponsored by any one denomination, but a group of concerned christians. It is a grass-roots call for unity in prayer.

I'm really not trying to be obnoxious, but I don't understand what "fasting" would accomplish. Does God really care if you eat three meals a day as opposed to only one? Unless you eat every minute of the day, I'm pretty sure you'd be able to eat as much as you want and still find enough time for prayer and all the other things you listed. Again, really, what's the point?

...and after the 30 days you will find that it did absolutely no good at all. You just have a bunch of people going hungry, will that really make a difference? Instead why don't you just go out and help people in need in honor of your religion. I certainly don't want anyone to stop eating for my salvation, I'll take care of that myself.

be objective to your motives....dont focus on religion. Are all religions know that it is the start of what you call 30 days fasting? Why are you appealing to christians only? Are buddhists with you?

Can I play too, foods too exspensive these days any ways & even if I'm diabetic & could slip into a coma, I still want to play & pray, maybe something will happen for me, maybe a coma would be just what I need in my life right now, can't get no one else to care.

what is yovur biblical explanation for the fasting....it sounds to me like you are just trying to draw attention to yourselves. I have to question your motives being that you have aligned yourself with the muslim faith and claim to bea christian...
