Sigh. They were TEMPTED, that's the whole point. It was a test then just as it is a test now only the temptation isn't in the form of a snake. It's other things like illegal drugs and alcohol and cigarettes, prostitutes and so on.

first & foremost Adam & Eve were not Christians. The reason why they were tempted is that in order for God to test them for their obedience since the only law that God made was them not to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good & evil & as well all know they both failed in this tect hence God instituted the law for the remission of sins & that is by the blood. Then God gave his only begotten Son (Jesus) to die once & for all for the complete forgiveness of all sins.

they were not as perfect as a lot of people think as they had the flaws as we all do. there are some who look at this story a little differently as they believe by Eve eating the Forbidden Fruit She brought wisdom, knowledge and free will into the world. otherwise we would still be in the Garden of Eden without any ideas of our own.

I highly doubt the snake had as much to do with it as natural human curiosity and a desire for knowledge.
You know, I wonder why Eve isn't revered as a humanistic or Gnostic figure...

Adam and Eve weren't perfect ... they were only very good ... like all of God's earthly creation.
They were sinless, though ... until they fell.

They were with freewill and had freedom of choice. So they can choose to obey God or listen to the devil, who posed as the snake.
