I am currently in the Marines so I don't have very much money but I have always dreamed of owning a decent muscle car with a fair amount of power. Is there anywhere I can find an inexpensive muscle car that isn't rusted out or a way I can build one without spending a fortune. By a fortune, I mean over $10,000.

You might consider that a used corvette can be a very good value. You may just eeek out a nice c5 with high mileage from 91 or 92. You can absolutely find a C4 or C3 and have a great platofrm for improvement and modification.
If you do not like corvettes, try a 1990-1992 v8 equipped mustang. The fixed coupe is a good buy. Modification are inexpensive and the cars can be made to be uite quick.

lastly, 1990's era camaro. I prefer over the mustang for handling reasons, the mustang is not as well sorted out at te limits. Buy the best and latest and modify.

Forget 1960's and 1970's early muscle cars. 1) pretty slow for the odels in your budget. 2) Poor handling 3) The good ones are already purchased and trestored by guys like me who wanted them in HighSchool when they were new or slightly used in the real world. frankly - stick with the corvette if you can....will not regret.

Maybe try looking for an old IROC or Grand National.........but you gotta take the speed limiter off.
